When UK Centres issue CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) letters to international students, they should ensure that the qualification title they put on the CAS letter is exactly the same as the qualification title on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications. Also, the student should refer to this qualification when they apply for the student (Tier 4) visa.
ABP approved centres will receive additional support materials free of charge including;
- Detailed content of each unit
- Reading Lists
- Tutor support materials including sample assignment briefs complete with guidance for model answers (In development).
The colleges are NOT bound to following these materials and are able to either develop or purchase further resources from independent suppliers
Assessment is encouraged throughout the programme utilising variable and creative assessment tools with minimal reliance on formal examinations.
ABP does not specify the entry requirements of our qualifications but has confidence in centres to recruit students that have the potential to achieve the standards required of the qualification. We expect all centres to recruit with integrity and consistency to ensure fairness of access & ability to all students.
Centres should take appropriate steps to assess each applicant’s potential and make a professional judgement about their ability to successfully complete the programme of study and achieve the qualification. This assessment will need to take account of the support available to the learner within the centre during their programme of study.
Students do not need to progress sequentially through the levels. Therefore a candidate who has achieved a level 5 qualification may be able to achieve the academic rigour and complexity, required of Level 7 Postgraduate Diplomas accessed through ABP.
ABP does not specify that candidates must have an English Language qualification equivalent to IELTS 6.0-6.5. However many UK universities will require applications for their Masters and MBAs to have achieved an English language qualification at this level prior to commencing the Masters/MBA. Therefore, we would encourage all candidates wishing to progress to a UK university to be working towards an English language qualification equivalent to IELTS 6.0-6.5.
